To get Digital Terrestrial TV signals in India, you will need an antenna to receive the signals broadcast by the terrestrial TV stations in your area. Here are the steps you can follow:
Check if your TV has an inbuilt Digital Tuner –
Most modern TVs come with an inbuilt digital TV tuner that allows you to receive digital terrestrial TV signals. Check your TV manual or the specifications on the manufacturer’s website to see if your TV has a digital DVB-T2 tuner.
Get an antenna –
Once you have confirmed that your TV has a tuner, you will need to get an antenna that is compatible with the frequencies used by the Doordarshan Digital terrestrial TV stations in your area. You can either get an indoor antenna or an outdoor antenna depending on the strength of the signals in your area.
Connect the antenna to your TV –
Connect the antenna to your TV’s antenna input port. This port is usually labeled as “ANT IN” or “RF IN.” You may need to use a coaxial cable to connect the antenna to your TV.
Scan for channels –
Once you have connected the antenna to your TV, you will need to scan for DTT channels. This will allow your TV to detect all the terrestrial TV stations that are available in your area. Go to your TV’s settings menu and look for the option to scan for channels.
Adjust the antenna –
If you are not able to receive all the channels, you may need to adjust the position of the antenna to improve the signal strength. You may also need to try different locations for the antenna to find the best spot for reception. You can also use your old traditional TV antenna which was used for the Doordarshan National channel in the 2000s.
