When the Sony TV channel was Free-To-Air in 1998

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) is an Indian Hindi-language general entertainment channel launched in 1995 as a free-to-air TV channel in analog satellite decoders, where the channel was available by local cable only from 1996–1997. A cable connection or dish antenna was mandatory to watch this channel fta,

We had a C-band dish antenna in 1998, when we rotate the dish antenna about 100 degrees east we get sony tv channels and others, and if rotate the dish antenna 83 degrees east we get zee tv and others Some types of TVs were available. (Correct me if anything is forgotten)

Along with this, like a radio, an analog satellite decoder also had to be installed. At that time, we used to watch Sony and Zee TV for free, as well as people within 100 meters radius could also watch these channels in their homes without any equipment.
Because of being analog, its signals are used to live in our entire locality. They used to catch our C-Band signal with their Doordarshan terrestrial antenna. Our childhood friends used to talk about this and tell us that today they saw this picture or that program.

Some of the Sony TV programs I still remember are Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Hum Sab Ek Hain, Tak Jhak, CID, Chhoti Si Asha, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Just Mohabbat, Aahat, and Boogie Woogie to name a few.
