RT is a free-to-air channel, formerly known as Russia Today. The channel is a Russian state-controlled international television network launched on 10 December 2005. It is operated by ANO “TV-Novosti”, a non-profit organization founded by the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti. The Russia Today channel broadcasts in several languages, including English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Serbian, Chinese, Hindi, Portuguese, and Russian, aiming to present news from a Russian perspective to a global audience.
