GSAT-17 is India's latest communication satellite which was launched on June 29, 2017. GSAT-17 satellite has a Normal C-band, Extended C-band, and S-band to provide various communication services.
The GSAT-17 satellite added C-Band TV channels in transponders. You can get all regional and other Doordarshan channels in MPEG-4 quality.

Which size of dish antenna required catching signals from the GSAT-17 satellite?
As you know these channels are available only on the C-Band beam so you need a C-Band dish antenna starting size of 150cm (5ft). It has high gain transponders so you can use a minimum size C-Band dish antenna.
Can I watch these TV channels on a Ku-Band dish antenna?
If you have a below 90cm dish antenna, then it will be difficult to get C-Band channels on a Ku-band dish antenna.
For example -
if you have an above 90cm Ku-band dish antenna then you have to buy a C-Band LNB bracket which helps to fit C-Band LNBF on the Ku-Band Dish antenna.
