ISRO successfully launched its 5th satellite GSAT29 of 2018 on Wednesday (14/11/2018). GSAT29 satellite is India’s highest weighted satellite about 3423 kilograms ever sent by India.
GSAT29 Satelite Main Highlights –
- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launches GSLV-MK-III D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
- GSLV launched with the help of Mac-3 rocket GSAT-29 satellites. The world’s second-largest booster S200 was used in this launch.
- This rocket has a new cryogenic engine prepared with indigenous technology, in which liquid oxygen and hydrogen are used as fuel.
- GSAT29 satellite, weighing about 3423 kg, is the heaviest satellite ever sent from India.
- North-Eastern states will be in communication with Jammu and Kashmir. This will help transfer high-speed data to remote areas of Kashmir India.

- this satellite will be installed at 55.0° East a geostationary orbit, 36,000 km away from Earth.
