Satellite FTA channels –
In India, over 600+ free-to-air TV channels are available by using satellite Ku-band and C-Band transponders. To receive Ku-Band DTH channels you need a minimum 60cm DTH antenna and a free-to-air set-top box, for example, you can receive DD Free dish 400+ free TV channels from GSAT15 satellite. If you want to receive C-Band free-to-air TV channels then you can buy free to air set-top box and dish antenna to receive FTA channels, free TV channels available on GSAT17, GSAT 15, and Asiasat 5, Intelsat 17, and other satellites.
Digital Terrestrial Platform (DTT / DTV / Freeview) –
Prasar Bharati recently started its digital broadcast of Doordarshan and other DD channels by using this technology. Prasar Bharati has already stopped the analog broadcast and converted the system to digital.
