Update – DD Retro channel has been shut down by Prasar Bharati, this channel was launched during the Corona Pandemic Lockdown as people requested that they want to watch the official telecast of old days TV programs in their free time. At that time DD National Channel had broken all TRP records, so Prasar Bharati started a new TV channel to provide the content the people demanded. The government of India has always been working in the interest of the people first, this is a good example of that.
The DD Retro channel was available on GSAT 18 satellite at 74.0° position east. The channel reserved two slots.
Note – It was a must-have TV channel by Doordarshan Prasar Bharati. All the Cable TV / DTH operators must carry this channel on their platform. There was no monthly subscription, it is a completely free-to-air TV channel.
