9 Gold channel was a Hindi Entertainment TV channel that was launched on DD Metro Channel for prime time slots. The channel was a joint venture of both DD Metro and Nine Broadcasting India.
It became very popular in India within a short time. Because DD Metro just started on terrestrial mode, and prime time slots (7 pm to 10 pm) were taken by 9 Gold channel, it was called Golden Hours on DD Metro. Hindi language those peoples were too curious about this type of programming on TV channels who don’t have a Cable TV connection and first time saw this type of programming on TV.
